After Hours Clinic Information

Effective April 1, 2019, the Brantford FHO After Hours Clinic is located at 217 Terrace Hill Street, Unit 124, Brantford, ON - directly across from the A-Wing entrance of Brantford General Hospital

The After Hours Clinic is open:
- Monday to Friday: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

- Saturday and Sundays (excluding holidays): 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

To book a same day appointment call 519-304-8221. Phones are answered Monday tp Friday starting at 4pm and Saturday and Sunday starting at 9am. Walk in registration starts 30 minutes before the official clinic start time. The clinic reserves the right to close registration early based on patient load.

Parking is available behind the Terrace Hill building, the cost is $7.00 for patients. The cost of parking is paid for patients who prefer to fill their prescriptions at the pharmacy next door.  

 Please note some services are not covered by OHIP and charged to patients directly:

• Ear syringing (not meeting OHIP guidelines) - 30$, cash 
• Completion of forms (fees vary) and sick notes (25$)
• Pregnancy tests 

Valid and non-expired Health Card is required for use of After-Hours clinic. Patients without valid Health Card are subject to 50$ visit fee. 

Services that are not covered by OHIP include ear syringing, pregnancy tests and sick notes. The current fee is 25$ (cash only). 

The Brantford FHO After Hour Clinic is for new, urgent concerns only and is not suited to treat medical emergencies. The clinic is also not a substitute for routine care provided by your family doctor.

If you have chest pain, severe trouble breathing, symptoms of stroke, heavy bleeding, fracture, or severe allergic reaction - call 911 immediately or go directly to the nearest emergency department.

GENERALLY, YOU SHOULD NOT USE THE AFTER HOURS CLINICS FOR THE FOLLOWING:

~ routine blood pressure checks, 

~ regular prescription renewals, 

~ narcotics, sedatives or stimulants prescriptions,
~ review of lab tests or procedures results, 

~ referrals, pre-op or driver's physicals, routine paps, or well-baby visits as these are more appropriately done by your regular family doctor.

All information disclosed to a physician or a nurse is treated as confidential and private and cannot be released to anyone (including family members or parents of capable children), unless consented by the patient or required by law.
